Shai was drafted 11th overall by the Charlotte Hornets in 2018 and then traded to the LA Clippers. He played his rookie season there and was traded to OKC for Paul George when Kawhi moved to the Clippers. In the 2023-24 season, Shai had made the final leap to superstardom at the age of 25 and brought his team to 1st place in the West .
